Identity and website for a community-led, open-source, mutual aid platform created during the first lockdown.
Inspired by DIY aesthetics, and the homemade signs appearing in windows during lockdown, the logotype can be reproduced in any monospace typeface using the ‘dotless i’ glyph.
All typefaces used throughout are open-source or freely available, and Peony Gent generously provided illustrations of people seen from a distance during the pandemic.

Typographic treatments are inspired by typewriter art and concrete poetry – creative acts that can be carried out with basic equipment.
Peony Gent created a cast of characters to be used across the project. Illustrated compositions featuring groups of people allowed us to create a sense of togetherness without showing people physically together.
The logo can be ‘re-created’ in any monospace typeface using the ‘dotless i’ glyph, echoing the open-source and community-focused intentions of the platform. It can even be embedded directly into code.
